About the Author
Barbara L. Kornblau, JD, OTR/L, FAOTA, DAAPM, ABDA, CDMS, CCM, CPE, is a Professor in the School of Health Professions, Division of Occupational Therapy at Florida A&M University. She served as the Dean of the School of Health Professions and Studies at the University of Michigan–Flint. She is formerly a Professor of Public Health and Occupational Therapy and an Adjunct Professor of Law at Nova Southeastern University and a Past President of the American Occupational Therapy Association. As a recipient of the prestigious Robert Wood Johnson Health Policy Fellowship, she worked for Senators Harkin and Rockefeller on health and disability issues and health care financing. She provided consultation in health and disability policy to the Special Olympics. As a volunteer disability self-advocate, she served as the Health Reform Czar for the American Association of People with Disabilities. She led the successful effort to include disability health disparities, disability quality measures, and the disability data collection provisions in the Affordable Care Act. The U.S. Department of Health & Human Services Secretary Sebelius appointed her to the Health Resources and Services Administration’s Negotiated Rule Making Committee on Defining Medically Underserved Populations and Health Profession Shortage Areas as the representative of the disability community. Her law practice focused on health and disability law. She has lectured nationally and internationally about health policy, ethical and legal issues in health care, pain management, work rehabilitation, autism spectrum, participation, and quality of life. She has published more than 150 publications, including books, book chapters, and journal articles. � ��

Ann Burkhardt, OTD, OTR/L, FAOTA, currently works with older adults for Therapy Resources Management in Warren, Rhode Island, and is an Adjunct Faculty Member at Temple University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Formerly, Ann was an Associate Clinical Professor and Director of the postprofessional online master’s degree program at Quinnipiac University. She also served as the Director of the Division of Occupational Therapy at Long Island University/Brooklyn and the Director of Occupational Therapy in the New York Presbyterian Hospital–Columbia and an Associate Clinical Instructor at Columbia University. While at Columbia University, Ann worked as a researcher through the Sergievsky Center in the Mailman School of Public Health. She served as a co-primary investigator of the Sources of Independence in the Elderly study, under the Washington Heights and Inwood Center on Aging Parameters, a National Institute on Aging-funded study of community-dwelling older adults in Washington Heights and Inwood in New York City. Ann also worked with the Medical Informatics and Public Health Informatics departments at the Mailman School of Public Health, on a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention-funded International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health implementation grant. Ann is a past member of the Board of Directors of the American Occupational Therapy Association and is a Past President of the New York State Occupational Therapy Association. Ann has published more than 40 publications including books, book chapters, and journal articles.

History of US Light Tanks

This In Action series books gives you a little of the history of US light tanks prior to WW2. The M-2, M-3, M-5 and even the M-24 are shown in this 48 page book. There are also 2 pages of color plates to show the camoflage schemes used.

The b&w photos show the tanks in all sorts of weather & terrain. These light tanks were out gunned and out armored in Europe, but good in the Pacific. Each tank got a little better than the previous one, culminating in the M-24 Chaffee light tank, which was a whole new design. Nice bonus to have it added here. There are also data charts to show the penetration power of the 37mm gun and statistics on each tank's height, weight, armor.

I would not pay the $42.00 asking price for a new book (as of this writing), but picking it up used as I did, or waiting for it to be re-published are options. Great for modelers or those starting out with an interest in armored warfare. These light tanks were good for scouting or secondary theaters, this book shows that very well.

The comparability of measurements made in differing circumstances by different methods and investigators is a fundamental pre-condition for all of science. Successful applications of technology require comparable measurements. While the applications herefocus on educational tests, score linking issues are directly applicable to medicine and many branches of behavioral science.

Since the 1980s, the fields of educational and psychological measurement have enhanced and widely applied techniques for producing linked scores that are comparable. The interpretation attached to a linkage depends on how the conditions of the linkage differ from the ideal. In this book, experts in statistics and psychometrics describe classes of linkages, the history of score linkings, data collection designs, and methods used to achieve sound score linkages. They describe and critically discuss applications to a variety of domains including equating of achievement exams, linkages between computer-delivered exams and paper-and-pencil exams, concordances between the current version of the SAT� and its predecessor, concordances between the ACT� and the SAT�, vertical linkages of exams that span grade levels, and linkages of scales from high-stakes state assessments to the scales of the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP).

Dr. Neil J. Dorans is a Distinguished Presidential Appointee at Educational Testing Service. During his 27 years at ETS, he has had primary responsibility for the statistical work associated with the AP�, PSAT/NMSQT�, and SAT� exams. He was the architect for the recentered SAT scales. He has guest edited special issues on score linking for Applied Measurement in Education, Applied Psychological Measurement, and the Journal of Educational Measurement.

Dr. Mary Pommerich is a psychometrician in the Personnel Testing Division of the Defense Manpower Data Center, where she works with the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) testing program. She guest edited a special issue on concordance for Applied Psychological Measurement. Her research is typically generated by practical testing problems and has focused on a wide variety of issues, including linking and concordance.

Dr. Paul W. Holland is the Frederic M. Lord Chair in Measurement and Statistics at Educational Testing Service and before that professor in the School of Education and the department of Statistics at the University of California, Berkeley. His books include Discrete Multivariate Analysis, Differential Item Functioning, Perspectives on Social Network Research , and two books on test score equating. He is a fellow of the American Statistical Association and the Institute for Mathematical Statistics, was designated a National Associate of the National Academies, was awarded for his career contributions by the National Council on Measurement in Education, and was elected to the National Academy of Education.
